The Institute of Forest Genetics is a US Forest Service research unit that "focuses on three areas: biodiversity and conservation genetics, disease resistance, and the molecular genetics and genomics of traits underlying the health and productivity of forests." They are a part of the Pacific Southwest Research Station, and this location is the primary location of the forest genetics program.
You'll likely find this place if you're heading down the South Davis Bike Path. The building itself is very nice looking, and sits right in front of a nice open field.
